Prestigious Edith Cowan University scholarship designed to entice Perth students to Bunbury for tertiary study

A scholarship program designed to bring Perth students to the State’s South West has been re-launched for the new year at Edith Cowan University’s Bunbury campus. The prestigious Destination Australia Scholarship will see prospective students score up to $60,000 off their university fees to help facilitate a “unique” experience studying in the regions. A total of $585,000 is up for grabs, with five four-year, five three-year and two two-year scholarships available. ECU vice president Cobie Rudd said she hoped the scholarships would break down a barrier for students who might otherwise be hesitant to study in the regions. “The scholarship provides a fantastic opportunity for students to explore a unique life outside metropolitan cities while undertaking world-class tertiary education at ECU,” she said. The scholarships are available to locals too, which Ms Rudd hopes will keep some of the region’s brightest stars at home, as well as welcoming Perth students. “A Destination Australia scholarship affords students the time to focus on their studies and follow their dreams here at ECU South West,” she said. “For many, this means being able to study at university without having to leave the beautiful South West region they call home.”
