Virginia Giuffre told to enter plea over alleged breach of family violence restraining order as lawyer confirms she has left hospital after bus crash

Virginia Giuffre has been discharged from hospital after a bus crash but was a no show in court on Wednesday, where faces a charge of allegedly breaching a family violence restraining order. Giuffre, who has accused Prince Andrew and Jeffrey Epstein of sexual abuse, allegedly breached the order in February, and had then been hospitalised with kidney failure according to a social media post she made last month. Ms Giuffre captured global attention in March when she shared a post of her badly bruised face to social media in a post that claimed she had been involved in a bus crash and hospitalised with kidney failure. The West Australian resident said she “had four days to live” in her post. Police said they only had a record of a “minor” crash and were unaware of any injuries. Her brother, Sky Roberts, said Ms Giuffre had never explicitly said her injuries were caused by the bus crash in the post. On Wednesday, Ms Giuffre’s lawyer Karrie Loudon asked for the domestic violence breach charge to be adjourned on Wednesday so she could continue negotiations with the prosecution. Magistrate Andrew Maughan agreed to the adjournment and said Ms Guiffre would be required to enter a plea at her next hearing on June 11. Ms Giuffre had been excused from appearing on Wednesday, and Ms Loudon declined to comment on her client’s wellbeing outside of court. Her publicist old NewsWire, Ms Giuffre was slowly improving. Ms Giuffre, who alleges she was trafficked by Epstein to have sex with Prince Andrew when she was a teenager, sued the Duke of York for sexual abuse in August 2021. The duke has repeatedly denied the claims, and has not been charged with any criminal offences. In March 2022, it was announced Ms Giuffre and the Duke had reached an out-of-court settlement. It is believed the settlement included a “substantial donation to Ms Giuffre’s charity in support of victims’ rights”.
