Football West State League: Murray Mackintosh unleashes screamer for Mandurah City
When your team puts eight goals past the opposition, there’s plenty of competition for goal of the match.
Not in Murray Mackintosh’s case.
Playing for Mandurah City in the opening round of the Football West State League at the weekend, Mackintosh saved the best for last in his side’s 8-0 win over Gosnells City.
As the game ticked over into stoppage time, Mackintosh spotted his opportunity to heap more pain on Gosnells, letting rip from very long range with one of the best goals likely to be seen at local level this season.
It was hard, straight and gave the goalie no chance.
Last year’s golden boot winner Joe O’Brien struck four times for Mandurah in the rout - but Mackintosh had the undistputed highlight.
